Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Solution focused brief therapy focuses on the present and future situation and objectives of individuals, but not past experiences. Having a goal-oriented approach encourages individuals to generate a future vision while the therapy supports the determining of skills, resources, and competencies required for achievement. 

In this approach, symptoms or issues that have brought the individual to therapy are not the main target. Instead, methods for coping with adversity and managing symptoms are determined, instilling a belief that individuals may already have the necessary abilities to create positive change.
