Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) emphasizes the importance of thought in determining emotion and action. This approach requires a process of reflection on how an individual reacts based on the perspective, versus the reality of a situation.

This approach works well from those who are afflicted by mental disorders such as depression, mood disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), eating disorders, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). As the individual and therapist both examine behaviors and thoughts that create the distress experienced; what emerges is a process to find ways to modify those thoughts, resulting in corrective behavior.
